The city is still plagued by fire incidences and the fire services have to be on high alert during the day and night. On a Friday evening, a huge fire ignited in the warehouse of Neeraj Traders in the Vyapar Vihar. The fire was so fierce that the flames soon spread to all corners of the godown and had people panicking in the nearby area.
Two fire tenders were then hurried to the location immediately information was received. Several hours of hard work by firefighters allowed them to control the fire. But at the time the fire was put out, everything stored at the warehouse was suffered to the ground. The event has made officials fear that the incident has cost them lots of money and the damage is still under establishment. Luckily, there were no casualties of the incident.
This was during the time that fire personnel were addressing the blaze at the warehouse yet another huge fire outbreak was reported later in the night at CMD College Chowk in the Link Road. The fire broke out in a clinic on the ground floor of Jain Plaza and the smoke and fire spread into the air. The event generated panic among business persons, passerby and the locals in the crowded business district.
This immediately alerted the control room, and teams of police and fire department rushed to the scene. Determination once again saw the firefighters in fighting the flames and they were able to keep the fire confined to other areas of the building. They saved a bigger catastrophe in a highly populated region, which would have been a bigger disaster without their timely intervention.
The cause of the two fires is yet to be found. The government has initiated an inquiry to establish the cause of the incidents. The fire outbreaks that have occurred in the city in a mere period have caused serious concerns on the fire safety protocols and preparedness in the city.
