Aditya Dhar, action-packed spy thriller Dhurandhar featuring Ranveer Singh, has become the highest-grossing movie of 2025, as the film has earned a major box office record when it became the first film to enter the 1000 crore club in the theatrical release of the film. Released on the 5th of December, the film has continued its dream run in its third week despite new competition with Kartik Aaryan and Ananya Panday in Tu Meri Main Tera Tera Tu Meri (TMMMTTM).
Contrary to the tendency of the third week to slow down, Dhurandhar continued at an impressive pace, with the help of a good Christmas surge. The movie recorded a great opening of ₹ 218 crores in its first week and in the second week, the movie recorded a great opening of 261.5 crores. Although it was expected to drop in the third week in terms of trade, the film had been given a major surprise when it earned 160.70 crore in days 15 to 20, with a further astronomical 28.60 crore on Christmas itself.
By contrast, TMMTMTTM only made approximately 7.25 crore net in India on its opening. As per the figures provided by the producers, Dhurandhar has earned a net collection of 668.80 crore in India in 21 days, through Jio Studios. It has a gross domestic collection of 789.18 crore and overseas markets have contributed 217.50 crore making the total in the world market a very high 1006.7 crore.
As a result of this success, Dhurandhar has risen above other blockbusters like Animal and Stree 2, and has become one of the elite movies of Indian cinema, alongside such movies as Baahubali 2, KGF Chapter 2, RRR, Jawan, and Pathaan. The second achievement of the film will be to surpass Kalki 2898 AD which has a global profile of 1042.25 crore.
