Son of slain Iran leader and the current supreme leader of Iran Mojtaba Khamenei on Saturday became vocal about the ‘peoples demand’ on the assassination of Ali Khamenei. In a written message that was released on his social media, he pledged to “avenge the blood” of Khamenei and the “martyrs” killed in the war.
“We pledge to avenge the blood of the martyred leader and all the martyrs of these two wars from the criminal and disgraced killers,” Khamenei said in the message. He sharply added that the vengeance of Iran must “inevitably be carried out”, whether or not he or his officials survived the war.
Expressing gratitude on the turnout seen at the 6 day long funeral ceremonies held across the country, he wrote- “I extend my heartfelt gratitude for the incredible, enemy-shattering, and historic turnout of tens of millions of people across Iran and Iraq, particularly in Tehran, Qom, Najaf, Karbala, and Mashhad”
Ayatollah Ali Khamenei was laid to rest at the Holy Shrine of Imam Reza in Mashhad late Thursday night as thousands of supporters gathered to pay their final farewells to the leader. Mojtaba Khamenei did not attend his father Ali Khamenei’s funeral due to severe security concerns, including threats from Israel.
Meanwhile, in a media interaction, speaking at length about Iran’s plans to assassinate him said he was aware about it. “I’ve been on their list for a long time. That’s what we’re dealing with… The only thing is, I’ve left instructions, if anything happens, to just literally bomb them at levels that they’ve never seen before,”
Earlier in the day, Trump in his social media post on Truth Social revealed his plans if Iran assassinated him. “1000 Missiles are Locked and Loaded and aimed at the Islamic Republic of Iran, with thousands of more to immediately follow, should the Iranian Government act on its threat,” Trump wrote on his page.
The US president described his threat as coming over threats “to assassinate, or attempt to assassinate” him. During Khamenei’s funeral, mourners repeatedly held posters or banners calling for him to be killed along with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu.
