In a retaliatory move, Ukraine launched one of its biggest attacks sending more than 400 drones towards Russia and launching missiles on the Belgorod region Russian officials said Tuesday.

Mayor Sergei Sabyanin revealed that more than 430 drones were launched between Sunday and early Tuesday morning. Most of them were destroyed distantly while 36 out of them were destroyed as they approached Moscow- the mayor was quoted as saying by a local agency.

Emergency forces deplpyed to capital where at least 14 drones were neutralized. However, no casualities or major damages were reported, authorities said.

Elsewhere in Belgorod region, acting governor Aleksandor Shuvaev said a civillian was killed in the first strike during the mutiple attacks besides trigerring fire at an infrastructure facility in Belgorod city.

Local authorities also confimred that Russia’s largest oil refinery in OMSk in Siberia was also struck . Vitaly Khotsenko, governor of the Omsk region, said Ukraine had attacked the refinery and said that Russian air defences had destroyed most of the drones involved in the strike.

Russia on Monday launched a combination of attack using drones and missiles on Ukraine which killed almost 30 and injured dozens. Residential buildings were in hit Kyiv and emergency forces were deployed to rescue those under the rubble. According to Ukraine air forces, Russia fires 68 missiles and 351 drones during the overnight Monday assault.
