Washington: Rebuking Israeli PMs claims that “nobody had perfect foresight” when it came to Iran’s willingness to choke off the Strait of Hormuz, US President Trump interacting with a local agency said aid watched the “60 minutes” interview with Israeli Prime Minister Benjamin Netanyahu and called it “pretty good.”

Trump asserted, “I knew they closed it. That’s the only weapon they have. It’s not much of a weapon anymore, but that’s the only weapon they have. We would have had it open, except that I did the favors for certain countries that asked me not to do it, we would have had it open under Operation Freedom, but we can easily go back to that.” When asked if he does intend to restart the operation aimed at providing vessels safe passage through the strait, he said “I don’t know — either that, or (something) much more severe.”

US President Donald Trump on Monday also said the monthlong ceasefire between the United States and Iran was on “massive life support”, describing the truce as “unbelievably weak” amid continuing tensions and exchanges in the Strait of Hormuz.

Meanwhile, Pakistani rejected claims of allowing Iranian military aircraft to park at an airbase to shield them from potential US strikes. Pakistani the diplomatic peacemaker between the two nations at war has called the information “misleading” based on a distorted interpretation of routine diplomatic logistics.

The clarification came after a post on X alleged that multiple Iranian aircraft, including a reconnaissance variant of the Lockheed C-130 Hercules, had been stationed at Nur Khan Airbase following the ceasefire announced last month.

Reports are making rounds that the Trump administration is offering a reward of up to $15 million “for information leading to the disruption of the financial mechanisms” of Iran’s powerful Islamic Revolutionary Guard Corps.

The bounty is being offered by the State Department’s Rewards for Justice Program and comes amid efforts by the administration to choke off the Iranian economy and pressure Tehran into a deal.
