Iran says a deal with Oman to reopen the Strait of Hormuz has closed as both nations agreed on the coordinates of routes through the critical waterway.
Meanwhile, US President Donald Trump again claims Washington is in talks with Tehran and says he prefers diplomacy to war.
Speaking in Las Vegas, Nevada, Trump claimed the US had been preparing to launch “the biggest attack since World War II” before Iranian officials asked for negotiations.
“We were all set for the biggest attack since World War II, and they [the Iranians] called me and said, ‘Please don’t do it. Let’s talk,’” he said.

According ro reports, Iran has warned Gulf nations that any new US attack on its territory would trigger retaliation against critical energy infrastructure across the region.
The warning was delivered through a series of high-level diplomatic contacts after President Donald Trump threatened on July 28 to strike Iran’s energy network and infrastructure, the sources said.
Aragchi urged Washington’s Gulf allies to use their influence with Trump to dissuade him from launching renewed strikes, the senior diplomat said, warning that any attack on Iran would prompt retaliation against US assets and energy facilities across the Gulf.
