Kim Jong Un Extends Invitation to Putin, Pledges Full Support for Russia’s Visit to North Korea

Korean leader Kim Jong Un, who is currently visiting Russia on a mission, cordially invited Russian President Vladimir Putin to visit North Korea during their bilateral discussions. The media in Pyongyang reported that Putin graciously accepted the invitation.

According to reports from the state media, “Towards the end of the reception Kim Jong Un politely extended an invitation to Putin to visit the DPRK at a time. Putin happily accepted the invitation. Reaffirmed his commitment to preserving and advancing the friendship between Russia and DPRK.” This diplomatic gesture further strengthened the growing bond between these two leaders.

The summit between Kim Jong Un and Vladimir Putin took place at a time when both leaders found themselves facing isolation from nations. During their meeting, Kim Jong Un expressed unwavering support for Russia, describing it as “complete and unconditional.” He also conveyed his dedication to building forward-looking relations that would extend well into the future.

In what seemed like a reference to the conflict in Ukraine, Kim Jong Un praised Russia for its efforts in safeguarding its sovereign rights, security and interests against what he referred to as “dominant forces.” This acknowledgement underscored the unity between these two countries in dealing with challenges.
