The policies of Israel in the Middle East are highly criticized by Iran, the country is blamed for the influx of the U.S. and creating insecurity among other nations in the region. Israeli Ambassador to India Reuven Azar made the remarks on the occasion of the 3rd anniversary of the October 7, 2023, attacks by the Hamas terror group, which serve as the prelude to the response.
The Iran Embassy to India stated on its X account that Azar’s claims on this point regarding Gaza and Lebanon being Iranian proxies were “baseless and misleading.” The embassy said these people were fighting for their land and security and dignity not as proxy soldiers of another country.

The U.S. and Israel had long been partners with the Gulf states to ensure their security, the statement went on. But Tehran indicated that these developments lately had been bringing into doubt questions about the effectiveness of such an arrangement.
