Iran issued a strong response to United States President Donald Trump’s ‘one-shot’ remark as Tehran amassed emotions during the funeral of the slain leader Ayatollah Ali Khamenei.

The Iranian embassy in Armenia posted a strong message on X, saying, “People can be killed but ideals can’t. You killed Ayatollah Khamenei, but in reality, you broke a perfume bottle whose scent spread everyplace. You don’t understand these things because you neither civilization nor history nor honor,” the post added.

The response came after Donald Trump in an interview told that he’d been closely following Khamenei’s funeral proceedings. “They are all there. One shot [and we can take them all out], but we are not going to do that because then we would have nobody to negotiate with, said Trump clearing that neither side would launch attacks during the funeral period. He added that Iran was given a pause from hostilities as a gesture of goodwill. “We beat Venezuela in one day, and we knocked the hell out of Iran; they’re dying to settle. They want to settle so badly. We gave him a week off for a funeral because we’re nice,” he said.

He was taken aback by the massive turnout for the funeral ceremonies, he expressed. “I was shocked. I thought people hated him,” Trump said, later adding, “Maybe it’s fake tears,” after seeing mourners crying during the funeral ceremonies.

Khamenei who ruled for 36 years was killed in an attack by the US on February 28th along with his daughter in law and granddaughter. Thousands gathered in Tehran to attend the 6 day long funeral ceremony of the slain leader. More than 20 million people are expected to travel to Tehran for the funeral of Ali Khamenei, according to Iran’s state broadcaster. Crowds decked in black chanted “Death to America” and “Death to Israel,” while some mourners held signs calling for Trump’s assassination. Others shouted, “Our word is one. Revenge! Revenge!” as Iranian officials vowed to “seek justice” for the US-Israeli airstrike that killed Khamenei. The funeral began on 4th July, with further rituals planned in Qom on July 7 and burial in Mashhad on July 9.
