Washington: US President Donald Trump on Monday touted a “very positive development” in talks with Iran, which convinced him to postpone a planned military attack on the Islamic republic. Taking to Truth Social, Trump said that “serious negotiations” were now underway with Iran and that Gulf states believed “a deal will be made.”
Trump said allies in the Middle East told him “They are getting very close to making a deal” that would leave Iran without nuclear weapons. He however, did not disclose details of the attack.
Meanwhile, the White House released an official fact sheet charting the significant outcomes of US President Donald Trump’s recent visit to Beijing. The document highlights major breakthroughs regarding bilateral trade, cross-border investments and the security gridlock in Iran. It is worth noting that the document misses details regarding Taiwan.
The fact sheet delineates how the two leaders determine to create fresh institutional platforms, specifically the “US-China Board of Trade” and “US-China Board of Investment,” to systematically govern and streamline bilateral economic and investment issues. On the international security front, both the countries agreed on ending the hostilities in the Middle East.
Trump had over the weekend warned, ” For Iran, the Clock is Ticking, and they better get moving, FAST, or there won’t be anything left of them.” He has been threatening if negotiations did not fall in place the ceasefire could end. Reportedly both the sides have been delegating over the past few days in an attempt to find a mid-path.
