United Arab Emirates: In what comes as an outcome of the attacks on the Fujairah oil site, UAE has closed its airspace on Monday evening. All flights bound to UAE and Sharjah were temporarily put on hold or diverted, according to the flight tracking data. Some incoming flight were diverted to Oman and nearby airports after debris reports and multiple attack waves raised safety concerns.

The authorities lifted the suspension after the situation was under control, reports mention. The UAE Ministry of Defence confirmed that air defence systems intercepted several incoming threats, including ballistic missiles, cruise missiles, and drones. Officials said three missiles were successfully neutralized, while another fell into the sea.

Meanwhile, Iran on state television has denied claims of targeting the Fujairah oil site or targeting any drones towards the gulf emirate.

The UAE aviation authority had announced to return to normal operations on Saturday. The decision was taken after a thorough review of operational and security conditions conducted by relevant authorities.

Flight services across UAE were disrupted following air strike by the US and Israel on Iran on February 28th. Several countries had shut down their airspace and key transit airports were also affected leaving thousands stranded across the Middle East. More than 1800 flights were canceled during the attacks. Officials at Dubai International Airport said four people were injured, while Zayed International Airport in Abu Dhabi reported one fatality and seven injuries following a drone strike.
