It has been confirmed that the US President, Donald Trump will be visiting to China. This has been made possible due to an invitation which he received from Xi Jinping, the Chinese President. It was confirmed by a spokesperson of the foreign ministry of China on Monday.
This will be the first visit of Donald Trump to China in nine years. He visited the country last time in 2017, when he started his first term as the President.
This visit also comes at a time when the prolonged West Asia war continues. This war involves US, Iran, and Israel, due to which a crisis has taken place with the Strait of Hormuz being blocked. Tensions between US and China have also increased due to this reason, including Taiwan.
Anna Kelly, the US Principal Deputy Press Secretary said that their President would arrive at Beijing on Wednesday. She also described this event as a visit of symbolical significance. He will be attending a welcome ceremony and have a bilateral meeting with President Xi Jinping. This will be followed by a visit to the Temple of Heaven.
