Donald Trump will be taking oath as the 47th President of the United States on Monday, January 20 in Washington DC, with the entire world having eyes on him for the campaign promises he made, some of which he has promised to fulfil on the first day in office.
Donald Trump held his last pre-office rally inside Washington’s Capital One Arena among a sea of roaring supporters on the eve of his inauguration day, speaking on topics ranging from TikTok to ending the war in Ukraine. TikTok restored services to its users in the United States by Sunday afternoon after President-elect Donald Trump assured that he would pause a federal ban on the app after assuming power on January 20.
Addressing the victory rally at Washington’s Capital One arena, Trump said, “By the time the sun sets tomorrow, the invasion of our country will have come to a halt”.
He also said that he would end automatic citizenship for everyone born in the US, known as birthright citizenship. This is the citizenship route that kids of the illegal immigrants get when they are born in the country. Trump intends to sign pardons for some or many of those convicted or charged in January. 6, 2021, riots at the US Capitol. This is something he can do with an executive order.
Notably, a source familiar with Trump’s planning said the border security will be a major part of the President’s first executive orders after the inauguration, wherein he is likely to classify drug cartels as “foreign terrorist organisations”, a Reuters report said.
