WORLD: The augmentation in the number of cases of novel coronavirus is gruesome. Several lives have been inflicted and the economy is hitting recession. The majority of the world is protesting against the staggering economy. However, the growth rate of coronavirus is increasing exponentially all over the globe.
Globally, around 51,94,210 cases have been put out on the list for the time being. To these statistics, more than 70,000 new cases have been registered in the last 24 hours. The total number of death toll stands at 3,34,621 with more than 7000 new deaths. The active cases are recorded as 27,78,623 around the world.

The coronavirus outbreak is far from over in the United States. The USA is on the top with 16,20,902 cases of the novel coronavirus. The total number of death cases is 96,354 and the recovered cases in the country are 3,82,169. Reportedly, All 50 states are at least partially reopened, even though some states have recorded a clear upward trend of average new daily cases over the prior week.
Russia is on the second with 3,17,554 cases altogether so now; the death cases in the country have been counted as 3,099 and the recovered cases in the country are 92,681.
As per the latest report, Brazil stands third in the row with 3,10,921 cases of COVID-19 but fast approaching Russia to become the world’s second coronavirus hotspot. The country records 20,082 cases of coronavirus with 1,25,960 recovered cases.
The increasing number of cases in Latin America is a cause of concern, the region has reported more new cases than either the US or Europe for three consecutive days. On Thursday, Brazil reported its highest daily spike in deaths, while Mexico reported its highest number of new daily cases. Mexico stands 16th on the list with 59,567 cases of novel coronavirus and recently proceeded with more than 2,973 new cases. As per the track record in Worldometers, the country has reported 6,510 death cases for now and 40,657 recovered cases.
India stands 11th with 118226 numbers of total cases reported yet. The total number of deaths is recorded as 3583 and 48553 cases have been recovered so far. The number of active cases is 66089 for the time being.
Iran stands prior to India with 1,29,341 numbers of total cases and total deaths have been recorded as 7,249. The country has documented 1,00,564 cases with 21,528 active cases of the deadly virus.
The epicentre of the virus, China has reported 82,971 cases of novel coronavirus with more than 4 new cases in the last 24 hours. The total number of deaths has been reported as 4634 and the recovered cases in the country are 78,225.
Thailand reported no new coronavirus infections or deaths, maintaining the total of 3,037 confirmed cases and 56 deaths since the outbreak started in January.
There are several countries around the globe with no cases of coronavirus such as Montserrat, Belize and a few more. The authorities have taken several precautionary measures to fight against the deadly virus.
“COVID-19 is a new disease and we are still learning about how it spreads” according to the US Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC). Respiratory virus infection is rapidly spreading through direct or indirect touch, droplet spray in short-range transmission and airborne transmission. The duration of contamination depends on the temperature and the texture of the surface of the object. The CDC has recommended 2-14 days of the incubation period.
As the symptoms vary and the body reacts in different ways to the COVID-19, the vaccine is still in progress. Several steps and ongoing studies are carried on for the production of the vaccine.
