Ludhiana: Punjabi singer Inder Kaur was found dead in Punjab after she went missing. Her body was found in the Neelo Canal on Tuesday morning at around 11 am, leaving her family devastated.
Inder Kaur alias Yashinder Kaur, a resident of Jamalpur in Ludhiana went missing on May 13 after she left the house in her car. Her brother later lodged a complaint after they failed to find her.
According to the victim’s family, the murder was orchestrated by a Canada-based man Sukhwinder Singh whose marriage proposal she had recently rejected on finding out he was married with children. The duo is said to have become friends on Instagram around 5 years ago. They further alleged Sukhwinder Singh travelled from Canada to Punjab via Nepal before the incident. He allegedly came to India with the intention of carrying out the crime. On May 13, he and his accomplices allegedly intercepted Inder’s car, kidnapped her at gunpoint and later murdered her.
During the preliminary investigation, on Sunday, the police reportedly recovered her car from the Neelon canal following which on Monday, the body was found in the canal. Interacting with the media, the police said to have detained Sukhwinder’s father, Pritam Singh and his friend Karamjit Singh.
The body has been sent for postmortem to Samrala Civil Hospital.
Further investigation is underway.
Inder stepped away from singing five years ago. She was now the owner of a boutique and make up studio.
