Former MP Nursing Registration Council registrar Sunita Shiju was fired on Friday amid her conviction in a probe into the recognition of nursing colleges that weren’t eligible.
From September 22, 2021, to August 24, 2022, Sunita Shiju held the position of registrar. It was discovered around this time that there had been irregularities in the recognition of nursing colleges that weren’t eligible. The state government arrested an officer involved in the nursing college scam.
The action was requested against her in the petition that the Law Students Association filed. She was found guilty of granting recognition to institutions that were not eligible and of neglecting to verify after the court ordered an investigation into her. On May 29, 2023, and August 4, 2023, the parent department of Shiju, the Dean Medical College Bhopal, released two charge sheets. Sunita Shiju was employed by Datia Medical College as a staff nurse at the time.
The petitioner, vishal Baghel, stated, “There’s a good chance she was able to regain her job through the legal system, even though the chargesheet is extremely weak. The investigation team found a lot of evidence against her.”
