Mumbai: The upcoming romance film Chand Mera Dil, starring Lakshay and Ananya Panday, has finally cleared its censorship issues. The Central Board of Film Certification (CBFC) has issued a U/A 16+ certificate to the movie, confirming that the film is suitable for those viewers who are 16 years old or older with adult supervision. However, it took a while to get the movie certified because the directors had to make some changes suggested by the censor board.
As reported, the censor board has made some drastic changes to the romantic scenes, cutting a total of 96 seconds from kissing scenes. Among the many cuts, the CBFC asked for the change of a particular 10-second kissing scene, along with other cuts.
The film Chand Mera Dil has already garnered a lot of attention on social media since its first announcement. The movie is directed by Vivek Soni and produced by Karan Johar’s production house Dharma Productions.
After receiving widespread acclaim for his outstanding performance in the action-thriller, Kill, Lakshay is now all set to take up a radically different role of passionate romance in this film. On the other hand, Ananya Panday hopes to continue her successful run of playing contemporary characters.
This is a film which is being presented as a passionate love story, taking the audience through the intricacies of modern-day relationships. However, while censoring around a minute and a half of intimate moments may leave some disappointed at an uncut storyline, the changes in the film are said to be for the good in terms of allowing the film to target the youth without being censored again. Once the CBFC certificate has been acquired, the promotions of this much-awaited film are likely to begin soon.
