A 19-year-old man died after falling from a residential building in Delhi’s Ashok Vihar area on Friday evening. Hours after the incident, Delhi Police reached the spot and started investigation. However, the reason behind the incident has not been revealed yet. Police is investigating the circumstances surrounding the incident.

According to officials, the incident took place at Swabhiman Apartments in Phase II of Ashok Vihar after information was received about a fall from height around 4:45 pm. A police team reached the spot and initiated an inquiry, while a crime team was also called to examine the scene.

The youth was taken to Deep Chand Bandhu Hospital, where doctors declared him dead. The body has been shifted to the mortuary of Babu Jagjivan Ram Memorial Hospital for post-mortem and further legal formalities.

During the investigation, police said they found that the deceased had uploaded a video on Facebook shortly before the incident. Authorities have taken digital evidence into custody and are analysing it as part of the probe.

Preliminary investigation suggests that the case may be a suspected suicide, although police have stated that all possible angles are being examined. Proceedings under relevant provisions related to unnatural death have been initiated.

The deceased has been identified as Anurag, a resident of Lala Bagh in Azadpur. His father works with the Delhi Home Guard.

Police are examining digital evidence after the 19-year-old reportedly posted a video on Facebook shortly before the incident. The Police said the exact circumstances leading to the incident will be ascertained after the post-mortem report and further investigation.
