Lucknow. The registration of more than 31 thousand Waqf properties has been cancelled on the Umeed Portal (Unified Waqf Management, Empowerment, Efficiency, and Development). This action has been taken after finding flaws in the documents of Waqf properties. So far, the registration of 31,328 properties has been cancelled on the Umeed Portal. Out of 1,18,302 Waqf properties, the registration of 31,328 has been cancelled. The Waqf claim of 31,192 properties has also been cancelled. The registration has been cancelled due to mismatch between the Khasra number and the number registered in the Waqf Board. The area of many has also changed in the revenue records.
The UMEED Central Portal is an official digital platform launched by the Ministry of Minority Affairs, Government of India. It serves as a centralized, transparent system for real-time uploading, verification, and monitoring of Waqf properties across the country.

This portal creates a digitized, centralized database of all Waqf assets to prevent misuse and ensure properties are used for their intended charitable purposes. Filing Waqf details, maintaining registers, and publishing audit reports are mandatory in accordance with Waqf regulations. It integrates with the Election Commission and Local Government Directory (LGD) databases to ensure accurate, verified ownership records.
