The Bahujan Samaj Party (BSP) chief Mayawati has left the political fate of Akash Anand wide open after speculations that he might return to an active political life in the party seemed to come to an end. Mayawati said that Akash Anand might be taken up in BSP again after his father in law and former MP in Rajya Sabha Ashok Siddharth’s full withdraw from politics.
In a social media post on Wednesday, Mayawati encouraged all BSP members to cooperate and work together to make the party unity strong before the forthcoming Assembly elections in Uttar Pradesh, Uttarakhand and Punjab. Local, circle and Assembly party workers and office holders at all levels are mobilizing to improve the election outcome and to enhance the Bahujan movement on the principles of Dr BR Ambedkar, she said.
Mayawati also appealed to the members of the Bahujan, especially Dalit community, not to consider personal or family concerns before the party’s bigger vision. She said that doing anything that undermines the movement would be quite detrimental.
Mayawati had also criticised Ashok Siddharth in the party.
While discussing the issue, Mayawati directly criticised Ashok Siddharth. She claimed the ex-BSP chief had received ample chances to mend his ways but he was keeping his own and family interests and ambitions in mind.
Mayawati has said that punishment have been meted out to those trying to mar the functioning of the party. She gave Ashok Siddharth as an example and said that both he and his spouse Akash Anand had been adversely affected by such developments.
Mayawati also pointed out Ashok Siddharth had not paid due attention to Akash Anand and the BSP movement. In a recent meeting, she expressed that Siddharth should not look at building political structures but be more committed and sacrificed for the party.
Unfavorably Mayawati says that Siddharth has yet another chance to get out of politics and overcome personal interests. She emphasized that the abolition of his political status is a prerequisite for having him come back to the duties of the BSP.
