There are rumors that one of the ministers from Tamil Nadu can be promoted to the deputy chief minister post in the state government which is headed by his father MK Stalin. Though, the information regarding such rumors has appeared online, Udhayanidhi Stalin, a state minister and a significant figure of the DMK has averted that they are false.
Pointing to the controversy that is prevalent in media regarding his probable elevation, Udhayanidhi, who is 46-, said: “All ministers in the DMK led Tamil Nadu government are deputy chief ministers. ” However, Udhayanidhi re-emphasized his stand while addressing a function held by the Tamil Nadu youth wing of the DMK of which he holds the secretary post, they quoted him as saying, “ There are many news reports on the deputy CM elevation I have told the press earlier as well that all ministers in our government are deputy CMs. ”
Udhayanidhi who was once an actor and producer is now a minister of the state youth welfare and sports. Stalin became his father’s cabinet in December of 2022 and is also the Chepauk-Thiruvallikeni constituency’s MLA. When the man communicated to the media during the event he personally said, “As for me I love my position as the youth wing secretary. ”
In regards to the 2026 assembly elections, Udhayanidhi portrayed confidence in the re-election of DMK led government. “The target is the 2026 election perform and get a victory like the last time. While comparing with our previous performance our leader CM MK Stalin will become the CM of TamilNadu again, it will be DMK will form the government in TN Assembly in 2026”, he said.
He also appealed to the party supporters/liberals to become more assertive on facebook/twitter and reminded them to read the daily newspaper to update themselves with activities of the party.
It is to be noted that much earlier this week, a senior DMK member had provided hints towards Udhayanidhi’s promotion. RS Bharathi, the DMK’s organizing secretary said, “The chief minister has to decide on elevating his son as his deputy This is our aspiration too But it is ultimately the CM who, as the party president, should decide. ” Regarding Udhayanidhi’s promotion, he said it would be a “huge advantage” for the DMK in the upcoming 2026 Tamil Nadu assembly election.
