Congress candidate Surendra Singh Jadawat told that Priyanka Gandhi will come to Chittorgarh for the first time. Preparations have been started for this rally to be organized at Indira Gandhi Stadium. Let us tell you that a total of 47 candidates are in the fray for 5 seats in Chittorgarh.
It is noteworthy that, for the first time in the 1979 Lok Sabha elections, Indira Gandhi had come to Chittorgarh district headquarters to campaign in support of the Congress candidate. At that time, thousands of people were sitting at the meeting place to get a glimpse of Indira Gandhi. Indira Gandhi reached Chittorgarh with a delay of 12 hours. Nirmala Kumari Shaktawat won the Lok Sabha elections in 1979. The stadium where the meeting was held also got its name from here, Indira Gandhi Stadium. It is said that due to the huge crowd at Indira Gandhi’s rally in the city, sugar, tea, snacks and milk had run out. After this, in 1998, Sonia Gandhi came to Chittorgarh as a star campaigner for the assembly elections. In 1998, Congress had won 4 out of 5 seats in the district. Now Priyanka is going to come here as a star campaigner.
Let us tell you that voting will be held in one phase for all the 200 seats of Rajasthan Assembly. Voters of Rajasthan will vote on November 25 to elect their representative in the Legislative Assembly and the next government of the state. The Election Commission had earlier fixed November 23 as the date for voting, which was later changed in view of the weddings. The election results will come on December 3.
Rajasthan chief minister Ashok Gehlot has claimed that the killers of Udaipur tailor Kanhaiya Lal Teli were linked to the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP), in fresh attacks on the Opposition party in the state, days before the legislative assembly election.
Ashok Gehlot claimed that the BJP was attempting to whip up communal tensions ahead of the November 25 polling in the state. Speaking on a campaign jaunt to Jodhpur on Sunday, Gehlot said if the Special operations Group (SOG) of the Rajasthan Police had taken over the case instead of the National Investigation Agency (NIA), the probe would have reached a logical conclusion. The case was initially registered at the Dhanmandi police station in Udaipur and re-registerest by NIA.
Further, the chief minister said days before the heinous crime, the accused were arrested by police in another case and BJP leaders came to the police station to release them.
