Jaipur: Multiple exit polls from various agencies reveal a BJP surge in the Rajasthan Assembly elections held on Thursday. Most surveys indicate a growing lead for the BJP in the state. Post-exit polls, the BJP is expressing optimism about its potential victory.
Meanwhile, the Congress is awaiting December 3 with anticipation. The outcome on that day will determine the political landscape in Rajasthan. Notably, the BJP did not explicitly declare a CM face during the election campaign, opting to showcase Prime Minister Narendra Modi’s image and the party’s symbol, the lotus.
However, there is a long list of potential CM candidates from the BJP, with Vasundhara Raje, a two-time former CM of Rajasthan, leading the race. Raje is widely popular, having addressed nearly 60 election rallies in the state. Another contender is BJP MP Mahant Balaknath, drawing comparisons to UP CM Yogi Adityanath. Balaknath, from the OBC category, is the eighth head of the Mastnath Math. The BJP has fielded him from the Tijara constituency. Diya Kumari, associated with the Jaipur royal family, is also part of the race, contesting from the Vidhyadhar Nagar seat. She is considered an alternative to Vasundhara Raje.
Additionally, several prominent figures from the BJP are in the CM race, including State President CP Joshi, Satish Poonia, Opposition leader Rajendra Rathore, Union Minister Arjun Ram Meghwal, Lok Sabha Speaker Om Birla, and MPs Rajyavardhan Rathore and Gajendra Singh Shekhawat. The political landscape in Rajasthan is poised for an interesting turn, with the BJP contemplating its leadership in case of a favorable outcome on December 3.
