Chandigarh: Punjab Chief Minister Bhagwant Singh Mann has been threatened. Threatening emails have been sent to the official mailing addresses of various Punjab government departments. The Chief Minister’s receipt of these threats has created a stir in the state.
In addition to the Chief Minister, BJP State President Sunil Jakhar has also received a bomb threat. Previously, several government buildings and schools in Punjab have received bomb threats. This time, the email states that both will be bombed like former Chief Minister Beant Singh.
The relevant email and complaint have been submitted to the Chandigarh Police, who are investigating the matter. The threatening email states that BJP President Sunil Jakhar will be killed by June 6th. Along with Punjab, the Delhi BJP office has also been threatened. Following the receipt of this threatening email, the police have launched an investigation and are trying to determine who sent it, although no official statement has yet been issued.
It is also known that the mail mentions the time of the blast at CM House as 1:11 pm and the time of blast at BJP office as 9:11 pm, but it does not mention the day on which the blast will take place. Also, it mentions the 1984 riots while talking about making Punjab Khalistan. It is known that the Chief Minister has gone to Delhi today and will meet Nitin Gadkari. Sunil Jakhar is at the Punjab BJP headquarters. After the threatening mail, security arrangements have been tightened at the Punjab BJP headquarters. Punjab Police and CRPF personnel are deployed for the security of the BJP office.
