Chandigarh: Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann organized a program in Chandigarh to honor the athletes, distributing over 45 crore rupees and making several important announcements. The Chief Minister announced that a match between India and Pakistan will be held on November 1st during the Asian Hockey Champions Trophy.
During the event, the Chief Minister announced that a hockey match between India and Pakistan would be held in Punjab on November 1st. Following this announcement, the players and sports enthusiasts present at the event were particularly enthusiastic. Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann stated that Punjab has always produced the country’s finest athletes, and the state government is committed to providing every possible facility to the players.
The Chief Minister said that promoting sports is among the government’s priorities and that Punjab will be made a major sports hub in the future. During the event, 1,070 athletes were honored with prize money totaling 277 million rupees for winning medals in various national and international competitions.
At this ceremony, Indian women’s cricket team captain Harmanpreet Kaur, Harleen Deol, and Amanjot Kaur will be honored with prizes of 1.5 crore rupees each. Shooting player Amanpreet Singh will receive 1 crore 54 lakh 20 thousand rupees, Neeraj Kumar will receive 1 crore 52 lakh 25 thousand rupees, and Kirandeep Kaur will receive 1 crore 51 lakh 25 thousand rupees.
