The government officials from all walks have now been plentiful in the narrow lanes of the Fatehpur village in Panchkula district of Haryana, these past days as the house has suddenly come under limelight.

Sniffing police and officers from various government agencies and agencies widely involved with the home kept coming into the morning of the Monday. The activity has made an ordinary home into the focus of an ongoing investigation.

In the past, the children were aware of the little boy with the house but until recently, he was an ordinary neighbour. Residents remember that he played in the streets of the village with the other kids and conversed with street dogs.

But all the past memories have faded away now, giving way to a video spreading around residents. The video purports to be the footage of the boy assaulting a girl, with some worried and prompting the authorities’ attention.

The incident has prompted the villagers to think back to their earlier impression of the child and the images appearing in the video have left the community perplexed. The issue has now come to the fore in the neighbourhood and they can hardly escape it.

Villagers were heard saying at a shed located just outside the street the family lives on that “the whole village knows about it now”.

Multiple government officials have arrived, suggesting the authorities are investigating. Their visits have also generated greater publicity for the family and the circumstances of the incident.

Throughout the investigation, the episode has created doubts for residents and put Fatehpur village under good scrutiny. More details of the investigation, the circumstances of the accident and any officials’ conclusions remain to be determined.

Ensuring the privacy of the children and preventing identification to be spread about will be of the highest priority, especially given the children’s ages, during this investigation.
