Bhopal: 2 schoolgirls were crushed to death after a speeding truck hit them on a highway in Anna Nagar in Bhopal on Monday. The incident took place around 2 pm in the Govindpura police station area, where a speeding truck rammed into the girls, an officer said. The deceased have been identified as Richa Chadre (13) and Kirti Yadav (14) and are residents of a nearby village. Both were killed on the spot.
According to the sources, both were going towards Kerwa Dam as it was Kriti’s sister Preeti Yadav’s Birthday and the girls were going to join the party. Then an uncontrolled loading vehicle hit both of them and crushed them. A case under relevant sections of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) and the Motor Vehicles (MV) Act has been registered against the truck. The police are checking if the driver was under the influence of alcohol.
