Bhopal: Prime Minister Narendra Modi is planning to pay a visit, to Madhya Pradesh specifically to tour the Sagar district on August 12th. During this visit he will be inaugurating the construction of the anticipated Sant Ravidas Temple in Sagar, which is expected to cost around Rs 100 crore. With the assembly elections, in mind the Bharatiya Janata Party (BJP) is actively reaching out to sections of society and has placed special emphasis on targeting the Scheduled Caste (SC) vote bank through their Sant Ravidas Yatra campaign.

The Sant Ravidas Yatra, scheduled to begin on July 25 from five different places in the state, will culminate in Sagar on August 12. This yatra, known as “Sant Ravidas Jan Jagran Yatra,” aims to connect with and reach out to approximately 10 to 12 lakh people from the Dalit community residing in various villages across Madhya Pradesh. The BJP’s Scheduled Caste cell is actively organizing and preparing for this extensive journey, which will spread the message of Sant Ravidas’ teachings and principles.

During the yatra, a chariot dedicated to the life and teachings of Sant Ravidas will travel through the state. The chariot will carry a picture of Sant Ravidas ji, along with his paduka (footwear) and kalash (sacred vessel), which will be worshipped at different locations along the route. The chariot will also emphasize the importance of social harmony, a key aspect of Sant Ravidas’ teachings.

The organizing committee, led by the minister in charge, will make necessary arrangements for the yatra’s smooth passage through the 50 districts of the state. Notably, the five yatras will commence from Neemuch City in Neemuch district, Mandav in Dhar district, Sheopur, Bijatola in Paraswada area of Balaghat district, and Baidhan in Singrauli district, respectively.

The conclusion of these yatras will be marked by a grand ceremonial event in Sagar, where Prime Minister Narendra Modi is expected to participate. The Sant Ravidas Temple Construction Yatra holds significant political and cultural importance, as it not only aims to rally support from various sections of society but also highlights the legacy of Sant Ravidas and his impact on fostering social unity and equality.
