Bhopal: Madhya Pradesh Chief Minister Mohan government is set to develop places in the state associated with Lord Ram’s footsteps as pilgrimage sites, following his directives. Speaking at a program in Jabalpur, CM Mohan Yadav emphasized that Chitrakoot, Satna, and other locations in MP hold special significance as they were places where Lord Ram spent a considerable time during his exile. The state government aims to enhance these places into pilgrimage destinations.
While preparations for the consecration ceremony of Ram Lalla in the Ram Temple in Ayodhya on January 22 are in full swing, Madhya Pradesh is also expediting the construction of the Ram Van Gaman Path. The MP government is clearing the path for the construction of the Ram Van Path, with officers preparing a blueprint for the initial phase under CM Mohan’s guidance. The development will focus on spiritual and cultural aspects, contributing to the overall growth of these locations.
With 23 identified sites, including prominent ones like Chitrakoot, Satna, Amarkantak, Panna, Jabalpur, and Vidisha, the Chief Minister announced that wherever Lord Krishna’s footprints touched, pilgrimage sites would be developed in the state. Ujjain, for instance, holds historical importance as Lord Krishna learned 64 arts during his visit approximately 5266 years ago, when the city was known as Avantika. Over 64 days, Krishna acquired knowledge of various arts from Maharishi Sandeepani, covering Vedas, Vidyas, Shastras, and Puranas. Krishna, during his visit, created the Gomti Kund by releasing an arrow and left his footprints, commemorated in the form of Paduka and footprints in the Kund.
The state’s initiative to develop these sites aligns with preserving and promoting the rich cultural and spiritual heritage associated with Lord Ram and Krishna. This strategic development not only fosters tourism but also contributes to the broader cultural and economic growth of Madhya Pradesh.
