Bhopal: In a move to support the education of individuals, the Chief Minister of Madhya Pradesh, Shivraj Singh Chouhan, has unveiled an ambitious plan to benefit hundreds of thousands of students across the state. Today he will allocate funds directly to the accounts of 450,000 students enabling them to purchase bicycles. This not promotes eco-transportation but also highlights the significance of education by ensuring that students can commute conveniently to their educational institutions.
This initiative is part of a program called the Free Bicycle Distribution Scheme, which has been active in Madhya Pradesh from 2004 to 2005. Under this scheme students who have been admitted into government schools sixth and ninth grades are eligible for assistance towards obtaining bicycles. The funds will be transferred digitally during an event held at CM Rise Government Mahatma Gandhi Higher Secondary School in Bhopal, the state capital. With one click, the Chief Minister will deposit the designated amount into each student’s account.
The distribution will provide Rs 4500 per student account totaling a sum of Rs 207 crore for 450,000 students. Furthermore, in a bid to encourage excellence, the Chief Minister has also announced a grant.
On August 23rd, the achieving students in institutions will be awarded a substantial amount of Rs 90,000 each with the intention of assisting them in purchasing scooters to make their daily travel more convenient.
