The Madhya Pradesh government has officially started the transfer of government officials and employees for the state under the ongoing annual transfer process under a new transfer policy, which allows transfers from June 1 to June 15. It comes after a cabinet headed by Chief Minister Mohan Yadav gave approval for the move, which is aimed at improving the administrative working across various departments.
The policy of the General Administration Department (GAD) allows for transfers to be made both voluntarily and administratively. There will be a lot of reshuffle in government departments during the two-week transfer window, the government said.
The police department is one of the first departments to adopt the policy. Acting on instructions from the Police Headquarters (PHQ), districts have already started processing the transfers of sub-inspectors and other police personnel. The drill will help boost law and order and to rotate officers who have been deployed for prolonged periods in the same area, officials said.
Departments have been asked to provide detailed profiles and service records for employees to provide transparency. The School Education Department and other key departments have endeavored to obtain new data regarding officials in various districts to enable the process.
National Health Mission (NHM) has also given specific instructions for contractual employees. On-line applications have been called for for staff wishing to apply for transfers, which must be submitted by June 2.
The transfer policy was approved at the State cabinet meeting on May 20 and officially announced by the General Administration Department on May 22. The policy is expected to bring change for the better in major departments of the State Government in the coming days, as the departments will have to make major changes for the better in the number of appointees.
