Guna: Union Telecom Minister Jyotiraditya Scindia, who has an aggressive personality, once again displayed his lack of tolerance regarding administrative whiteouts. Earlier, he scolded them (officers) for negligence of duty in public meetings. In one of the recent affairs, he became unpleasant and scolded the Collector and SP why they had failing to organize things properly during his visit. Scindia was reported to have said, “This won’t work. You were asked to manage the crowds and make sure it stays this way.” A video clip of the incident has since gone viral.
This event took place when Scindia was on tour to Guna and Bamori. Thus, without prior information, he called the Collector and the SP in front of the people. At Circuit House, where Scindia was receiving applications from the public, the district administration has put up a small shed to escape the rain. This also caused many people to stand outside the tent due to its shortcomings in size, which earned Scindia a frown. He, however, ordered that better arrangements should be made the next time he was to be visited.
Scindia reached Guna on Friday night and took a room in Circuit House for their stay. Their grievances, as well as their applications, were heard before he proceeded to Bamori around 10 in the morning. Because of the large number of people who turned up for the event, several other people could not fit in the tent and had to stand. Among them, some were holding umbrellas, whereas the others got drenched in the light shower.
Seeing such conditions, it can be understood how Scindia got frustrated and frightened by such disorganized conditions. Armed with his loud hailer, he shouted aloud for the Collector and the SP in his usual bureaucratic tones, ordering their presence. In its wake, Collector Dr. Satendra Singh was produced before Scindia. The minister advised the Collector to prepare for a bigger tent in the subsequent visits because the public was inconveniced by the small tent in the previous visits.
This is not the first time that Scindia has called senior administrative officials in such a way. Earlier also in April, while chairing a public meeting in Lakshmiganj, he insulted the then Collector Amanbir Singh Bains.
