After a high-speed vehicle veered off the road and hit an electric pole, which burst into flames at an hour in the late night, a tragic road accident in Dabra occurred, claiming the lives of two individuals. The incident, which happened on the Dabra City limits under the Dabra City police station, is thought to have been aggravated by firecrackers stored in the vehicle.

Police claimed that three people, Awadhesh Vishwakarma, Ramji Soni and Chandraprakash Soni, were on their way back to a wedding of their friend. They were travelling from Gwalior to Bamour Kala in Shivpuri when the accident took place around 2 am near the Arru tri-junction on NH-44.

Early reports indicate that the car was traveling at a high speed of about 130 km/h when the driver lost control leading to the car colliding into an electricity pole on the roadside. The effects of the crash resulted in sparks, which soon caught fire in the vehicle. Presence of firecrackers in the car is suspected to have intensified the blaze leading to rapid blaze spread.

The Awadhesh Vishwakarma and Ramji Soni could not flee and died after being trapped in the burning car. Chandraprakash Soni was seriously hurt and taken to a hospital nearby to get treatment but his condition is still critical.

The police have started investigating the incident, looking into the causes, which could be over speeding and transport of firecrackers. The local community is still in shock over the accident and this highlights the dangers of careless driving and carrying of flammable materials in vehicles.
