K Kavitha, the leader of the BRS Party and the accused person in the Delhi Excise Policy case, purportedly was responsible for coaxing a promoter of one of the pharmaceuticals that is internationally acclaimed, Aurobindo Pharma, to pay out the highest amount of rupees 25 crores that needs to be given to the AAP to own the rights As per the CBI (Central Bureau of Investigation), she told Mr. Reddy the business would face threats and be harmed if he refused the frivolous demand of kickbacks. The CBI applied for her detention, and the court sanctioned it for April 15.
Reddy, also under investigation by the Enforcement Directorate in the liquor policy case, has become an approver. The CBI informed the special judge, Kaveri Baweja, that Reddy’s involvement in the Delhi liquor business was at Kavitha’s insistence and assurance.
The Agency adds that Kavitha directed Reddy to pay these associates of hers, Arun R. Pillai and Abhishek Boinpally. Then, she was to ensure that monies went to Vijay Nair, a representative of Arvind Kejriwal from Delhi, who would secure the alcohol business here.
Enforcement Directorate already seized Kavitha in March, and CBI, after interrogation, also arrested her, as proof of her mysterious behavior.
Adding to this, CBI also accused the associates of Kavitha that they had stayed at a hotel in Delhi for coverage of liquor policy and that Reddy’s company gave ₹80 lakh to Kavitha’s NGO, Telangana Jagruthi with an assurance of coming to her for the policy implementation.
On top of that, it is alleged that Reddy was forced to concur with a treaty regarding the sale of land from Mahboob Nagar, Telangana, worth ₹14 crore and promised to face the consequences if he refused. She then asked Reddy for ₹25 crore, saying it was a donation to AAP, and she reminded him how his business would be threatened if he didn’t repay it.
Similarly, K Kavitha is also under question for having links with the South Group of South Liquor Policy where she made the payment of ₹100 crore as kickbacks to AAP for granting her liquor licenses.
