The former TDP MLA and youth brother of Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister N Chandrababu Naidu, N Ramamurthy Naidu, expired at a private super-speciality hospital today, Saturday.

He was 72. According to a bulletin issued by the hospital, Ramamurthy Naidu had been undergoing treatment for multiple health complications and succumbed at 12:45 PM after all efforts of medical intervention.

Ramamurthy Naidu was hospitalized on November 14 due to a cardiac arrest. He regained consciousness after CPR, yet he was in a poor state and needed breathing assistance due to respiratory difficulty on and off. He was reported to have developed “non-communicating normal pressure hydrocephalus” – a medical condition arising from the presence of extra fluid in the brain, and which had been treated previously by having a VP shunt. But even the best medical intervention failed, and he was in a critical condition and had low blood pressure and other complications that caused his death.

Ramamurthy Naidu is a well-known politician who was the Member of Legislative Assembly for the Chandragiri Assembly Constituency from 1994 to 1999. Respectable from the standpoint of quality devotion and service, he was recognized within his community. The family has gone further into the public sphere, where his son Nara Rohit is an actor in the Telugu film industry.

The death of the veteran politician has been received with sorrow, and many leaders, including those in the team, have condoled. Leaders despising the occurrence of Telangana, Congress committee president Revanth Reddy offered condolences on the untimely demise and prayed for the soul to rest in peace and strength to the grieved family.

The Andhra Pradesh political scene will remember Ramamurthy Naidu and, while people will remember his commitment to service delivery.
