Raipur: Chhattisgarh is encountering heavy rains for the past few weeks as a reason of which many districts are facing a flood like situation. On Saturday, the concerned officials ranging from Police Superintendent, District Collector and a Minister reached the flood affected village in Bastar district. The water logging and overflow in the entire village has posed a threat to the villagers and they requested the officials to assist them at the earliest to combat the flood situation.
District SP and Collector were compelled to board a tractor to reach out to the flood affected victims while Commerce Minister, Kawasi Lakhma took a pick up vehicle to arrive in the village as the water was overflowing on NH- 30.
The Minister directed the concerned authorities to assure that the villagers get all the necessities on time. He also assured that there are no problems to the people who were shifted to shelter homes due to floods. The water is flowing above the danger level in few rivers of like Godawari which has created more challenges for the authorities. The neighbouring states of Madhya Pradesh and Maharashtra are alfacing flood crisis in some districts of their states due to heavy rains recently.
