Chhattisgarh: The State Education Ministry has issued a notice on Wednesday permitting schools to resume offline schooling for classes 6th,7th,9th and 11th from September 2nd.  The authorities convened today to chalk out fresh guidelines to resume offline schooling for the rest of the classes.

As per the new guidelines, schools in the rural areas can resume conducting physical classes after receiving permit orders from the concerned Gram Panchayat and the Parent Committee of the respective schools. On the other hand, schools in the urban areas will have to approach the concerned ward councillor and the parent committee of the respective school to resume offline classes. The schools can resume their classes from September 2 based on the permission received by the above authorities.

Earlier, on August 2 the state had permitted re-opening schools for Classes 10 and 12 with 50% attendance, for which the pre-requisite was that the COVID positivity rates of the concerned district remained below 1% for the last seven days.  Complying with the rules, schools in several districts were shut down when the state health department a rise in the positivity rate.
