The School Education Department has declared the annual School Enrollment Festival for the entire State, to be celebrated in the coming June, starting from June 16, and preparations are underway at district, block, and school levels. Detailed instructions have been given to collectors, district education officers, and school principals to ensure the successful implementation of the programme.

The department says the program is designed to promote school attendance and participation for the first week of school of the new academic year. Extensive awareness creation on banners, posters, public announcements (rural & urban) & rallies have been ordered. Additional participants will include local representatives of the public, School Management Committees, and parents.

Schools are returning, with the new guidance that cleaning, strengthening, and minor repairing be done before the return. Proper management staff have also been requested to maintain a conducive and student-friendly atmosphere in the school premises. Work to repair school sites should be finished by June 15th.

The department has advised the schools to identify eligible children in all children by enrolled for admission, those children who are coming from Anganwadi centres to Class 1, and children going from Primary to middle schools. Extra measures will also be taken to reintegrate school dropouts.

School authorities are stumped to clear the areas of teacher-related controversies before the commencement of the session and chalk out a three-month academic plan. Schools are also provided with guidance to ensure that the rate of attendance of learners and teachers is maximized.

This event will include free textbooks, uniforms, and bicycles, which will be handed out to qualified students. They have been asked to contribute to the programme through learning resources and educational materials like notebooks, school bags, stationery, etc. from the community members, self-help groups, retired employees, or any local organisation they like.
