Chhattisgarh: A Naxal involved in 13 criminal cases, carrying a bounty of Rs 5 lakh was slayed by the DRG Forces in 19th February in Burgum Forest area, police said.
A fierce encounter took place when forces acting on a tip-off surrounded the Burgum village in the Aranpur area. Cross firing broke out between the two forces, during which Malangar Area Committee Incharge Arjun alias Lakhma Sodi was killed.
The Naxalites reportedly fled the site after losing grounds to the forces. During a search operation, the body of Arjun son of Nanda Sodhi, a resident of Burgum was found dead. A pistol, a black coloured holster and an empty shell were found lying near the body, sources informed. Apart from these, a pair of Naxal uniform, five kg tiffin bomb along with its trigger were also recovered from the Naxal camp.
