Union Food Processing Industries Minister Chirag Paswan arrived in Chhattisgarh on Sunday and is scheduled to attend the ROLBOL Youth Conclave 2026 in Raipur. The event is being held at the Medical College Auditorium on Jail Road and is the third edition of the ROLBOL Youth Conclave.

During his visit, Paswan is also expected to meet the Chhattisgarh unit of the Lok Janshakti Party (Ram Vilas) to discuss the party’s organisational and electoral strategy in the state.

Speaking to reporters at Raipur airport, Paswan said young people would play an important role in India’s development. He stressed the need to create platforms where young people can interact with political leaders and policymakers. The LJP has launched its ‘Yuva Bole’ programme as part of this outreach.

Chirag Paswan also said the LJP is working to expand its presence in different states. He said the party is preparing to contest elections in Uttar Pradesh and Punjab, while its Chhattisgarh unit would discuss its strategy during the meeting in Raipur.

On concerns regarding the Election Commission, Paswan said that if voters have doubts about the poll panel, the institution should work to win back their confidence. His comments come amid continuing political debate over the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The Election Commission has separately ordered a special drive to identify and enrol eligible voters who may have been left out during the revision.

Paswan also criticised the Congress’ demand for fresh elections, questioning whether the party would seek re-elections in states where it currently holds power. He argued that opposition parties have a role in raising concerns but alleged that some issues lose momentum over time. He also referred to the Congress’ earlier focus on Electronic Voting Machines, saying the issue had received less attention after the SIR debate intensified.

On whether the LJP would support the BJP in Chhattisgarh, Chirag Paswan said the state unit would take a decision based on the prevailing political situation. He added that the party is working independently in several states while continuing to assess its strategy according to local circumstances.

Paswan’s visit comes as the LJP continues its organisational expansion beyond Bihar, with youth outreach and state-level political preparations forming part of its broader activities.
