Balod: Because of carelessness in patrolling the area they were supposed to secure, one of them is an Assistant Sub-Inspector (ASI), while the two constables will be sent to the line. Nine shops were robbed at once in Gurur town, and as a result of that, the negligence of those officers who were on night patrol was identified. The acts happened between the night of September 27 and September 28, and the case number is under Gurur police station and is registered under crime sections 305 and 331 (4).
Police personnel were on patrolling duty in sector -3 as officials of Balod PS and Gurur, Puruur, Saniy, and Chowki Kanwar. From the preliminary investigation, it was discovered that there was a lot of negligence on the part of these police officers who were on night duty patrol to arrest and prevent the crime.
When the matter was discussed, SP SR Bhagat found negligence of enough seriousness, absence of responsibility, and apathy to the patrolling team. Hence, ASI Hussain Singh Thakur, Constable Prahlad Kurre, and Constable Chandresh Sahu were suspended from Gurur police station and posted to the reserve center in district Balod.
The nine shops being break-ins within a single night left people questioning the effectiveness of the patrolling officers, considering that the crimes were well-executed. The lack of vigor in detecting or avoiding such loss compelled the authorities to take the following disciplinary actions against the officers. The police administration forwarded it, and it was understood that negligence in duty, especially on the night shift, would attract stiff actions toward ensuring effective law and order.
