Chhattisgarh: Another police-Naxal encounter has occurred in Sukma district of Chhattisgarh. The brave jawans killed the notorious Local Operation Squad (LOS) commander and a female Maoist in a fierce gunfight. The jawans had received intel about the arrival of a Maoist with an Rs 8 lakh bounty on their head, and they were quick to act on it. However, on their way back, the Naxalites ambushed them and opened fire. But our jawans were not ones to back down, and they retaliated with full force, killing two Naxalites in the process. This heroic incident took place in the Bhejji police station area.
A massive team of DRG, Cobra, and CRPF consisting of 219 jawans had set out for the Danteshpuram forest from different locations. The team had received information that the LOS Commander and the wanted Maoist Madkam Erra, along with some of their associates, were hiding in the forest.
On Monday morning, as the jawans returned from the jungle, the Naxalites launched a surprise attack on them. The ensuing gunfight lasted almost half an hour, with both sides exchanging fire. Ultimately, the Maoists were forced to flee into the forest, defeated by our brave jawans.
The dead bodies of the LOS Commander and the female Maoist were recovered through a Search Operation on the spot. Along with that, several guns and ammunition were also recovered.
