Over 300 people appeared at the BJP’s state headquarters at the party’s Finance & Policy Assistant Centre with issues and demands ranging from different government departments under OP Chaudhary on Wednesday.
In the course of the grievance redressal camp, redressal was made for more than 100 applications and instructions issued for the remaining applications to be taken up immediately by the concerned departments.
After the event, Chaudhary commented to the media the following problems were solved immediately by calling the department officials. Those applications which needed additional processing were sent to the authorities concerned with a view to getting them resolved promptly, he added.
The state government continues to take steps to address the problems of the people and the BJP Assistance Centre was set up for people to give their complaints on a single platform and seek solutions that can be given in time, the finance minister said.
The plan aims to keep public problems from piling up in the future to solve the problem faster by cooperating citizens with public departments, Chaudhary said. He reminded everyone that “the government’s main concern is how to provide responsive governance to effective response to genuine concern rather than through needless procedures.
Senior BJP leaders Ashok Bajaj and Prabal Pratap Judev also participated in the programme and engaged with the people at the assistance centre. The programme is part of the party’s public engagement roadmap, which allows people to speak directly to government representatives and/or senior party leaders about their problems.
