Raipur: Country’s largest power generation company, NTPC Ltd. has achieved highest daily gross generation of 977.07 Million Unit (MU) on 28th July, 2020. NTPC total generation includes power generated from its Subsidiary and Joint Venture (JV) companies.
Five of its power stations situated at Korba, Sipat & Lara in Chhattisgarh, Talcher Kaniha in Odisha and Koldam hydro in Himachal Pradesh exhibited exceptional performance & achieved 100% Plant Load Factor (PLF) on the day, said the officials.
According to the report, NTPC’s previous best daily generation was 935.46 MU achieved on 12th March 2019.
Earlier, Indian state-controlled power utility NTPC had increased its thermal generation capacity through the addition of an 800MW second unit at the Lara thermal power project in Raigarh.
With a total installed capacity of 62910 MW, NTPC Group has 70 Power stations comprising of 24 Coal, 7 combined cycle Gas/Liquid Fuel, 1 Hydro, 13 Renewables along with 25 Subsidiary & JV Power Stations.
Notably, The PSU has issued tenders to acquire 1,000 MW of operational solar plants, running for at least a year, and supplies power to their buyers at not more than Rs 5 per unit. The move is seen by industry experts as the power major’s initial step, while it traverses a route over the next 10 years to have massive RE assets of 45,000 MW alone.
