New Delhi: The IMD in a fresh notice on Thursday predicted scattered showers with thunderstorms across CG on August 25th and heavy rainfall on August 26th. Meanwhile, a cyclonic circulation was witnessed on Thursday which will stall there through Friday before diminishing, causing heavy rains.

Sarguja district on recorded heavy rainfall causing water logging in low lying areas. Rescue teams were engaged to relocate stranded people to a safer location. As per the Met Dept. around 90 mm of rainfall was recorded in a single night making it the highest ever received.

Meanwhile, a 100 year old tree was uprooted near Tatibandh Chowk near AIIMS Raipur. Disaster Response team was engaged immediately to remove the fallen tree and clear traffic congestion.

The weather office also predicts rainfall in 17 other states including Rajasthan,: Gujarat, Madhya Pradesh, Uttar Pradesh, Jharkhand, Bihar, West Bengal, Sikkim, Nagaland, Manipur, Mizoram, Tripura, Arunachal Pradesh, Assam, Meghalaya Karnataka, Kerala, Tamil Nadu.
