Raipur: Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Bhupesh Baghel on Thursday, urged people to take the lockdown seriously and asked to follow social distancing norms.
In his address, CM showed concern over people flouting the precautionary measures and said the Lockdown cannot be avoided if people do not follow the safety guidelines during unlock 3.
He said “Recently the number of infected patients is rising consistently. These are all the consequences of people not following the precautions during unlock.”
“Lockdown does create difficulties for people, but if people do not follow safety and prevention norms, then we cannot avoid the lockdown situation. This is the time for us to be concerned about the situation, to be cautious and to follow the safety measures seriously. “, he added
In a video address, Baghel said ” The situation in Chhattisgarh comparatively under control to the other states. With cooperation of people of the state, we would be able to do even better in the direction of preventing corona infection. Currently, Recovery rate of corona patients is much better in Chhattisgarh and casualty rate here is significantly low.”
Speaking about the testing capacity in the state, Bhupesh Baghel said that “At present, more than five thousand samples are being tested every day in the state. Soon this will be increased to ten thousand samples per day.”
He also thanked doctors, health workers and the frontline warriors in the fight against the invisible enemy and said that the doctors are diligently working for the treatment of COVID19 patients.
Presently, Eight regional and 22 district level hospitals of the state have COVID-19 treatment facility. All the COVID Hospitals have sufficient stock of masks, PPE kits, triple layer masks, VTM and necessary medicines, said bhupesh baghel in his video message.
Chief Minister further said that he has directed the officials concerned to ensure availability of oxymeter and assured people that state government, along with all its departments, physicians, sanitation workers, police officials etc are busy in preventing and treating the COVID-19 infection.
Chief Minister appealed to people of the state to compulsorily wear masks, wash hands frequently and practice physical distancing and avoid crowded places.
“If we take precautions seriously, we would be able to contain corona virus infection,” he added.
As the festive season of Eid-al-Adha and Rakshabandhan is approaching, Bhupesh Baghel extended his warm wishes for these festivals but at the same time requested the people to celebrate only at their homes with their families.
While concluding the video address, He said that “In this unprecedented times, All the measures are extremely necessary for prevention of coronavirus infection. We will have to live up to our social responsibility by avoiding crowding at places. I firmly believe that we all would understand the seriousness of the situation and be cooperative towards prevention of COVID-19.”
