RAIPUR: An emotional Chavindra Karma, son of senior Congress leader Mahendra Karma killed in the attack demanded NARCO test on Chhattisgarh’s Minister Kawasi Lakhma as well as former CM and BJP national vice-president Raman Singh.

On the anniversary of the Jhiram attack on May 25th, Karna interacting with the media demanded the tests on the ministers along with Amit Jogi and then IPS officers posted in the district along with the charge of Tongpal and Darbha police stations.

“There was Congress government at the center and BJP was ruling in Chhattisgarh and the state government did not cooperate with the probing agency National Investigation Agency (NIA) in the investigation,” he said, adding, “After Congress formed the government in Chhattisgarh, we were very much hopeful of getting justice but the BJP government at the centre does not want to solve this case”.

He also highlighted how Kawasi Lakhma managed to survive the attack while 32 others which included his father were killed.

Meanwhile, Bhupesh Baghel also pressed that the victims of the attack still awaited justice. Adding that the Baghel govt regretted on the delay in the verdict, interacting with the media he said, “Justice has not been served in the Jhiram incident and we regret it. This is an emotional matter for us. Justice should be given to the victims’ families and those killed in the attack and they are still to get it.”

Every year since the Baghel has been running the government, CG observes Jhiram Valley Martyrdom Day. This year a two-minute silence was observed in all government and semi-government offices of the state and an oath was taken to make the state a land of peace again.
