Lawrence Bishnoi’s close aide, Aman Sahu, a gangster, was produced before the CBI Special Magistrate Shri Bhupesh Kumar Basant today. The court has endorsed that Sahu will be held in police custody until October 19, when his lawyer will also be able to accompany Sahu during the interrogation. The police in Raipur are expected to interrogate Sahu for a long duration to reveal other aspects of his criminal life and accomplices.
Sahu was arrested just a day before from Jharkhand by Raipur police warrant production arrest. He was then taken back to Raipur under heavy police escort, with 40 policemen following him. Sahu has credible charges against him, including instigating a shooting outside the office of a businessman in the Teli Bandha neighbourhood of Raipur. Regarding this incident, the police have already arrested 12 of his gang members plus a woman, and they are now detained in jail.
Two persons riding in a Pulsar motorcycle on July 13, 2024, at about 11:00 PM, fired at the parking lot of the office of PRA Group, a construction company near Teli Bandha Police Station. This provoked screams of fear among the businessman’s driver and employees, who ran into the office with bullets flying past them. In this, security officers fired 2 to 3 shots at the attackers. After the shootings, the masked men were, however, able to get away from the scene and in an attempt to arrest them, the police laid checkpoints all over the city.
Subsequently, police came across the cycle on which the attackers fled, the registration number of which is JH 01 DL 4692, in the vicinity of Teli Bandha. Due to the numerous criminal cases that have been registered against Sahu in Jharkhand, police officials are always eager to get as much information from him as possible during the remand.
