His unwavering commitment to the state’s welfare earned him the reputation of a distinguished social reformer, compassionate litterateur, and skilled physician.
Dr Baghel played a pivotal role in championing the cause of the Chhattisgarhi language and culture, advocating for its prominence in literature, folk stage performances, and public discourse. His visionary ideas also contributed significantly to the formation of the Chhattisgarh state.
Having been deeply influenced by the national ideology during his studies, Dr Khubchand Baghel actively participated in the freedom movement, following the footsteps of Mahatma Gandhi. He tirelessly travelled from village to village, inspiring countless youths with the Swadeshi movement and rallying them to join the struggle for independence.
