Raipur: On Tuesday night, Chhattisgarh has crossed the grim milestone of 10,000 mark since the first case emerged in Raipur on 18th March, said the health officials.

With a surge in coronavirus positive cases in Raipur and other parts of the state, Chhattisgarh can be seen as the new hotspot in the coming days.

On Tuesday, 280 cases have been reported in Chhattisgarh, among them, 106 are from Raipur, 42 from Durg, 37 from Bastar, 25 each from Balrampur and Kondagaon, 9 from Surajpur, 6 from RAIGARH, 5 each from Bilaspur, Kanker, Kabirdham and Balodabazar, 2 each from Janjgir-Champa and Korea while 1 patient each recorded from Dhamtari, Jashpur, Narayanpur and Bijapur.

Meanwhile, the state recorded the maximum number of deaths in a single day with 8 fatalities, taking the total number of deaths to 69.

The recovery rate of Chhattisgarh is higher than that of whole India, stands at 75.3% currently. 357 people have been discharged after recovering in the last 24 hours.

With this, the total number of coronavirus infections has increased to 10,109 in Chhattisgarh, including 2427 active cases. The number of patients discharged in the last 24 hours has surged to 357, taking the total recovered cases to 7613.

On Tuesday, Chhattisgarh conducted 5,364 tests in the last 24 hours. The cumulative sample tests conducted in the state has jumped to 3,40,043 so far.
